Work in progress

Hi folks,

I’m happy to announce i’m back on the job. working on iWebKit right now and it’s already really getting along!  Next version will see huge speed improvements like you have never seen, package will be a lot smaller and iphone 3.0 visual upgrades and overall support. I am probably going to remove some useless features or those not good enough to continue with. I’m just not good enough with javascript to continue them and i want to go back to iwebkit’s roots anyway.

Other frameworks are bloated and offer a lot of features. I want iwebkit to be as lightweight as possible for simple html or php sites.

You will hear from me soon probably. please post about this on your blog or forum if you want to support the projects!

Je moet een mix doen. En goede basis en mooie en leuke featers

  3. Goed nieuws ! Bonne nouvelle ! Good news !

Nice to hear that the project leader is back on the job ! I think it’s a good idea to focus on the core aspect of iwebkit : css.

Nice features that you already had could be packaged in a separate “plugin” folder for instance.

Other features like geolocation , orientation detection will be implmented by third parties. You can take a look at my grails plugin page :
    http://grails.org/plugin/iwebkit
It’s based on iwebkit but I also added some features like geolocation and orientation support !
